Religious Education
Religious Education is the first learning area in a Catholic school, and as such, Gospel values are integrated into all aspects of the life and curriculum of the College. Religious Education at Salvado Catholic College focuses on the knowledge and understanding of the Gospel as it is handed on by the Catholic Church to those who follow Christ in today’s world.
Parents/Carers are the first faith educators of their children. Salvado Catholic College supports parents/carers in the faith formation of their children by providing a range of experiences that nurture and develop each child’s sense of wonder in God’s presence and creation. Carefully planned experiences contribute to the life-long process of developing children’s faith and religious knowledge.
At Salvado Catholic College student’s religious knowledge is developed through the teaching of the Religious Education Units of Work (PP – 12) that are mandated by the Bishops of Western Australia. Religious Education in the Early Years provides students with the opportunity to develop an understanding of themselves, their relationships with others and their knowledge of God’s love for them and their response to God’s infinite love.
As children participate in Religious Education at Salvado Catholic College, they experience a growing sense of belonging and community from the shared vision of their family and the College, in collaboration with the Parish of St Francis Xavier.
