Early Childhood Education
In the Early Years Learning Spaces at Salvado Catholic College, Teachers develop teaching & learning programs that are unpinned by their knowledge of children and child development. Teachers foster children’s natural curiosity through the provision of play-based learning opportunities that enable children to explore, create, collaborate, problem-solve and communicate.
Teaching and learning programs in the early years promote a growing sense of belonging, being and becoming through the key principles and practices and the five learning outcomes of the Early Years Learning Framework. The Framework is implemented in conjunction with the Western Australian Kindergarten Curriculum Guidelines and the National Quality Standard and delivered in a play-based environment.
In the Early Years Learning Spaces there is a specific emphasis on play-based learning and a focus on the importance of relationships, communication and language, and social and emotional development.
